After months of quiet work behind the scenes, the Boston Made collective is officially live. Here's what we're building, who's involved, and why this city needed it.
Boston has always been a city of makers. From the textile mills of the 19th century to the biotech labs of Kendall Square, this city builds things. But for independent makers, designers, and small brands — the people doing the real work at the street level — there's never been a single place to find each other, amplify each other, and grow together.
That's what Boston Made is. Not a marketplace. Not a directory. A collective — a living network of people who make things in and for this city, connected by a shared belief that local matters.
The newsletter is the heartbeat of that collective. Every issue, we go deep on one maker, one brand, one story that deserves more than a social post. We cover drops before they happen, events before they sell out, and people before they blow up.
We're starting with a small, curated group of founding members across fashion, food, coffee, wellness, and design. Over the coming months, we'll open the collective to new applications and expand the directory. If you make something in Boston — or you're obsessed with the people who do — this is for you.
